Free startup idea:
There's a new category of mobile app coming: action apps.
Apps where agents take action for you, instead of asking you to take action.
Here's the breakdown:
Human-first apps:
- You open the app
- You scroll the feed or list
- You tap, type, decide every step
- AI is bolted on the side
Action apps:
- Agents act on your behalf in the background
- You manage the agents, not the workflow
- AI is the core UX, not a feature
Email example:
- Agents answer 80% of your inbox
- 1-2 emails per day get surfaced for your call
- You stop managing messages and start managing agents
Think:
- Old apps = you do the work
- Action apps = agents do the work
Mobile-first was the last shift.
Agent-first is the next one.
Facebook had to buy Instagram to survive the mobile shift.
The same acquisition wave is coming for agent-first apps.
